Concerts
The Concerts Committee is responsible for planning a variety of concerts including national and regional acts. Committee members will play key roles in organizing andd executing production, booking, hospitality, stage management, artist selection and concert advertising. Members will learn the ins and outs of concert production while working with a tightly knit group of music enthusiasts!
Previous artists include, but are not limited to: The Plain White T;s, The Dropkick Murphys, Common, The Blue Scholars, The Used, Maroon 5, Motion City Soundtrack, Armor for Sleep, Sugarcult, Rooney, Jason Reeves, Andy Mckee.
Spotlight
The Spotlight Committee hosts the Open Mic Series and the Crimson Underground, as well as a few feature performers throughout the year. The programming for the Crimson Underground and Open Mic Series will be planned, advertised, and run by the committee members.
The Open Mic Series is both a musical and visual arts showcase for students.
The Crimson Underground is a new 18+ club hosted in Butch's Den in the CUB 9:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. on most Fridays. The club will feature DJs and other entertainment.
Special Events
The Special Events Committee plans different activities and events throughout the year, which include Homecoming Week and Springfest.
Homecoming Week consists of many activities which include a lip sync competition, King and Queen contest, lunch time concerts, a debate, games night, giveaways and residence decorating.
Springfest is one of the largest events on campus and is an outdoor festival to end the school year off right. Previous entertainment includes Mad Chad the chainsaw juggler, The Calling, Eve 6, Everclear, comedian Dan Cummins, extreme sports, local bands and more.
Films
The Films Committee selects and schedules films to be shown for free to students, faculty, and community members. Films are shown in WSU's brand new CUB theatre. The committee also programs other film-related events such as the Warren Miller Ski Video Premiere, The Wazzu Independent Film Festival, lecture collaborations, and other special features.
Lectures
The Lectures Committee schedules perforemers of educational and/or entertaining value. With speakers of both national and international perspectives on comtemporary issues, the committee brings a broad diversity of thought. The committee is also responsible for the Homecoming Debate.
Up All Night
Up All Night is a late night weekend entertainment series providing WSU students with FREE food, activities, and prizes. These themed programs offer variety in entertainment, including movies, live bands, comedians, magicians, interactive games, arts and crafts projects and dances.
